Choosing Your Hot Tub

Today there are so many different sizes and shapes of spas, there is one to fit virtually any home from cozy spaces for two, and to roomy spas for the whole family your choices are practically unlimited. The most straightforward way in which to choose your hot tub is firstly decide the maximum amount of people you wish the hot tub to hold, The next stage is to choose the location of your tub, most people find a deck or patio to be the ideal spot. As the hot tub does not need plumping in you only need to consider the electrical supply. It is impossible to say exactly how much space you require but you can use these figures as a starting point. An average 4/5 person hot tub is approximately 200cm x 200cm (83” x 83”). A typical 2/3 person hot tub is approximately 200cm x 150cm (80” x 60”)

Base

A full hot tub can weigh up to 3 tonnes!

Your hot tub need to be situated on a

minimum of a quality patio base. If you

are having concrete base built it needs

approximately 4” to 6” thick and be

slightly larger than the base of the tub.

If it is being situated on decking then

this will need to be reinforced

accordingly.

Access

An important part of installation is the

delivery we will situate your hot tub

on its pad. Also please be aware of

any height restrictions you might have

e.g. Low guttering and also tight

turns that need to be made. If you

don’t have sufficient access a crane

might be required.

Electrical Supply

A fully qualified electrical engineer is required to wire in your hot tub. Our hot tubs require their own dedication power supply with there own RCD (circuit breaker). The majority of our hot tubs run off a 32amp supply.

Water Supply

All our hot tubs are completely stand-alone and do not need to be plumbed in to any water or drainage supply. The hot tub just needs to be in a location where it can be filled, usually with a hosepipe our hot tubs have their own drain valve, which can be connected to a hose and drained away.

You don’t have to drain a hot tub after each use; water changes are done every three months depending on use. It is very important to maintain water quality to keep the water clean and protect parts like the heater and shell from damage. All our hot tubs have their own filtration system. The filter cartridge will need to be removed and rinsed out with a hose regularly and replaced every six months again according on use. We can supply all necessary chemicals and advise for looking after your water.
